Biography

Lava Lava Love is a pop rock band started in Verona, Italy in 2010.

They were formed a bit accidentally, when Vittorio Pozzato (vocals, keyboards and guitar player in Fake P, House of All and Canadians) and Massimo Fiorio (bass player in Canadians) decided to visit producer Matteo Cantaluppi’s recording studio. He joins them, and the result of this collaboration is the creation of their first three songs: Keep on Falling, The Light is a Lie and In the Aeroplane over the Sea (Neutral Milk Hotel’s cover).

After this first experience, they thought it would be great to get more people involved in the project, so they ask the complete newcomer Florencia Di Stefano and Oliviero Farneti (Pilar Ternera, Fake P, Spagetti Bolonnaise), who isn’t a newcomer at all, to join them: here we have Another Murder Ballad and Winona. All of these songs were collected in an EP, “Their First Extended Play”, available on their website http://lavalavalove.tumblr.com .

From then on, things get better and better: in February 2011 they hire Luca Valentini (Fake P, House of All) at the drums, and they make their live debut; at the same time they start recording their second album, A Bunch of Love Songs and Zombies, which is released in September 2011 for The Prisoner Records (owned by Michele “Mezzala” Bitossi) and distributed by Audioglobe.

In the meantime, there is a drums changeover: Andrea Sbrogiò substitutes Luca (who still keeps a good relationship with the band by designing Florencia’s outfits with his clothing line Zoe), and together they start their new fall/winter tour, which will see them go far and wide throughout Italy up until next spring.
