The horizon stretches out like a single thread. It divides what you can see from what you cannot. In that sense, it marks the border between the visible and the invisible. The contours of the border seem well defined and sharp. Until you move. Then, the stillness proves an illusion; behind every horizon a new one emerges. Forever. Until the end.

This concept–a border that turns out not to be a border at all–can be translated to a musical context. The borders of Last Horizon’s oeuvre lack definition. ‘Stillness’, it seems, is not among the bands virtues. The influences of this foursome can be traced all the way back to the legendary British bands of the seventies. Moreover, they do not ignore the pop and rock music of later generations. Think Floyd meets Toto meets Three Doors Down. Sort of.

“We’ve been working really hard lately. Now we just wanna go out there and do live shows.” The music reflects their determination; based on a solid drum-and-bass-marriage, heavy guitars and screeching Hammonds evoke a sense of raw emotion. Simultaneously, a lot of effort is put into sculpting melodies and harmonies to match. The singer’s voice makes one want to drift along with the songs’ nostalgic currents; also in the more subtle songs, where the band switches from electric to more intimate instruments such as acoustic guitar and piano. On stage the band is more than skilled enough to take the audience for a ride through a landscape of many musical moods.
