This was country-pop in fine form. Sonny Ray wishes he could write like that. So Larry hung out with Roger Miller and did stuff and drank, but that was long ago and he is sober for many years and hanging out with the likes of Bill Gaither.

The Gatlins were to County Music what Bubble Gum Music was to Rock 'n' Roll. I'm glad we don't have to listen to this pablum on the radio anymore. When your fortune goes up your nose ... well ... that's Show Biz, I suppose. Legendary the Gatlins were NOT. Did they have a "Sound" for 15 minutes of fame? Yes. Do we care anymore? NO!

They wuz once superstars. They ain't no mo' .... I stopped listenin' to them a long time ago. Dated material. Sorry, if you like 'em, but I'm a fellow Houstonian and I can say this. They had it all and they blew it. I won't say more, but to simply say ... no more, please!
