Lanan Adcock is one of Montreal’s strongest emerging artists. Her arresting voice and haunting lyrics set her apart from other singer-songwriters.
The former front-woman of Touch (2002-2007) Lanan is regular on the scene having shared the stage with The Fiery Furnaces, Young Galaxy and Joseph Arthur. She’s been featured in the Pop Montreal music festival since its inception and was the recipient of a MIMI nomination (Montreal International Music Initiative) for her first EP, Touch.
Inspired by a series of life-altering events, Lanan dove into a more intimate approach to songwriting and her first full-length album was born. Horses & Hounds has a vibrant pulse of its own.
Recorded by Adrian Popovich, the co-founder of Mountain City (Sam Roberts, Stars, The Dears, Priestess) this deeply textured album draws upon the influences of Patti Smith, Nick Cave and Neko Case.
Tackling the age-old themes of love and death, the songs are honest and at times dark, taking you through the morass of Lanan’s heavy mind and bleeding heart. Horses & Hounds will swallow you whole.
