Lake, aka “Lakey The Kid”, is a rapper from Queensbridge, New York. In 1999, Lake was released from prison after serving a seven year sentence. He had been writing rhymes while in prison and attempted to get into the hip-hop industry once he was released. Lake is famously known as a friend of fellow Queensbridge rapper Nas. He appeared on the song “Revolutionary Warfare” on Nas’ album, God’s Son. Since he appeared on Nas’ album, Lake’s relationship with Nas has folded.
The first album Lake released was Lake Entertainment Presents: The 41st Side, a compilation album featuring fellow Queensbridge rappers. The album was released under Lake’s label, Lake Entertainment and sold over 100,000 copies with little promotion. Many compare the album to Nas’ compilation album, QB Finest, which also featured Queensbridge rappers.
Lake is now signed to Death Row East, a subsidiary of Death Row Records. His album entitled “The Big Ride” is expected to be released in late 2008. On August 22, 2006, Lake released a collaborative album with Cormega entitled “My Brother’s Keeper”.

I bought Lake's albums when they were released on vinyl back in the late 1970s. I just acquired their material on CDs and have been having some wonderful musical flashbacks. Some of those songs really stuck with me, including as "Time Bomb", "Angel In Disguise", "Listen To Me", and numerous others.
