Let Me Down Gently
Kiss and Not Tell
In for the Kill
I'm Not Your Toy
I missed the opener, Midnight Magic, because I was next door watching Drowners put on an awesome performance. Luckily, since the set times worked out that I had about two minutes after Drowners ended to switch venues, I was able to see all of La Roux's set.
I was a little underwhelmed by the second album, Trouble in Paradise, and the album this tour was in support of, mostly due to its lack of catchy, uptempo songs like the first album. Nonetheless, there are some good jams on it that I have been enjoying listening to.
The crowd wasn't terrible, but it wasn't super-into the concert, at least around me (toward the back). There was a lot of talking around me, which was vaguely distracting. …

5 Jul 2011, 21:46 by kiwicrushNot really a discovery post. Just a list of songs I've been replaying this summer.
Cosmic Love by Florence + Machine - I love Florence's voice. It's so magical and heavenly.
Beat the Devil's Tattoo by Black Motorcycle Club - Sad, haunting, and beautiful.
Young Blood by The Naked and Famous - It reminds me of a happy, celebratory summer day.
In for the Kill by La Roux - Great dance track.
Changing by Airborne Toxic Event - I like the story in this song. As always, ATE makes great sounds.
The Cave by Mumford & Sons - I have a fondness for songs about self-discovery and independence.
Believe by The Bravery - I've loved this song for a while, because it never gets old.
Strip Me by Natasha Bedingfield - She always has something powerful and honest to say in her songs.
Undisclosed Desires by Muse - I like the haunting sounds in this track, like many of Muse's songs.
Heartless by the Fray - This will always be my favorite rendition of Kanye West's "Heartless," but Dia Frampton did a good job too.

26 Aug 2010, 17:41 by CvaldaVessalisHello everyone! Hope you all had a great summer... Mine was actually pretty hectic to say the least, but a ton of fun! Gig-wise, only managed to see P!nk in Ireland with a couple of mates back in June and, whilst it was certainly one of the more professional shows I have yet seen and the pop-rock star certainly does hoof her way around the stage with great momentum (the big highlight being her encore of So What, which saw her propelled over the stadium crowd in steel-hoop harness, spinning herself into a dizzying frenzy), the event itself left me a little cold, despite the blazing heat of the sunny weather. Her supports included Hockey (who happened to be very good, despite the non-plussed crowd reaction), Butch Walker and his Black Widows band (who happened to be quite milquetoast for a hard-rock band, not that the crowd seemed to mind) and Ireland’s premier commercial radio DJ (whose name has been banished from my memory forever).
