It feels like a fresh breath of countryside nature wind. That's how I feel after getting to know a bit more Brazilian's rock scene!
Brazil has always been known by the lyrical depth of bossa-nova and MPB composers or by the dancing groove of axé, funk, forró and samba. For some time (mostly the 80's) we were known by our proeminent metal scene, but now only the shade of a glorious past remains (of course there are marvellous bands out there, but they do not get enough recognizement); I've always felt there was a lack of well-known rock bands, and even more on the independent side, both inside and outside the country.
This has been changing over the course of years, but there was still something missing from the cauldron: instrumental rock bands.
Japan is well-known in the world for it's emotional math rock bands, such as toe
; UK for more tradicional post-rock bands, such as And So I Watch You From Afar
and Meanwhile, Back In Communist Russia...
. And so goes on.
