Tokyo, Japan (2009 – present)

LIV MOON was formed in Tokyo, Japan in 2009 with the single “THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA” as a female fronted, Symphonic metal band by the vocalist of the band, a Swedish born singer AKANE LIV (born as Akane Okamoto-Kaminski). LOUD PARK 09 was the band’s first stage-performance and they released an album, DOUBLE MOON, later the same year (December 16th).

Akane started her journey as a performer from a Takarazuka music school where she participated in various stages. She took a short leave from the group to travel to England in order to learn singing. In the Beckenham Festival, she managed to win the Singer of the Year award and attracted a lot of attention worldwide. After returning from England, she graduated from the Takarazuka music school and met producer Tatsuya Nishiwaki and later the band LIV MOON was formed.

On June 23th, 2010, they released ‘Covers ~Scream As A Woman~’, which contained various covers on worldwide, famous songs but with their own, Symphonic metal-touch which its limited edition contained a bonus-DVD, and followed by two releases in 2011; ‘Golden Moon’ on March 16th and a live-DVD ‘Liv Moon Club Show Golden Moon 〜月華月虹〜’ on June 29th.
In 2012 they released two full-length albums: The first one entitled ‘Symphonic Moon’ got released on January 18th and its limited edition also contained a bonus-DVD. And the second one entitled ‘The End of the Beginning’ and got released on September 25th which its limited edition also contained a bonus-DVD.

By the way, The End of The Beginning sounds like a mix of Symphonic Moon and Golden Moon to me, and that's pretty good in my opinion. Though, it sounds as "commercial" as Symphonic Moon but in this case (and for Symphonic Moon) I don't see it as a bad thing, if we consider the whole package(-s of both). What makes me come back to Liv Moon is Liv's beautiful voice, so I can't really complain on that part, but I had wished The End of The Beginning to have more Japanese lyrics, but that's part of the "commercialization" of the band I guess :/

Back listening to Liv Moon again, took a few months break after my 1000-scrobbles-marathon on Liv Moon as I didn't want the same thing happening to me for the artist IRON ATTACK!... anyways, the wiki has got updated with the new live-DVD release that was almost two months ago now plus some minor things.

I actually don't like The End of The Beginning as much as I wish I did. Symphonic Moon is way better

The new album is wonderful :D I really disliked Symphonic Moon but i'm glad they still are able of doing something incredible. Liv sounds badass.

I must say I like TEOTB a bit less than Symphonic Moon. It don't feel quite as diverse as the May album does to me. Still, it's very decent, which is more than can be said for 99% of artists that release music at this kind of pace. Liv Moon is definitely one of my favourite discoveries of this year. (My favourites so far: The End of the Beginning, Forevermore, Oogon no namida)

Now that I heard the album a thousand of times I can say this for sure, Fountain Of My Pleasure it's the best song in it.
