Bands I've seen:
Gonga - heavy stuff! Very recommended!
The Vintage Caravan
Pentagram - Not my cup of tea but that old guy is GORGEOUS!
slow green thing
The Cosmic Dead - Spacedudes! Very cool
Belzebong - Soooo heavy
Mars Red Sky
Mother Engine - Absolutely stunning
Dÿse - No offense, but this was absolute crap
Ufomammut - OHMYFUCKINGMAMMOTH!
Nice festival, although the weather was a huge pile of shit. Very relaxed, not too many assholes, a beautiful location and drinks/food were quite affordable. And it's even CLEAN, believe it or not. (Aside from the sludge caused by the heavy rain on thursday and friday, of course).
30 May 2014, 01:02 by KhanatistOk then, let's not blow this further up.
You may have noticed how my participation on this site has gotten less and less over the years (although I have the feeling last.fm is on a hiatus altogether; correct me if I'm wrong). What you did not know, though, is that I never stopped collecting these fabulous Top 50 lists by the end of each year. Lists, guys! Everybody loves them!
Now you may think: Whoah, this dude had all the time of the world to research underground's finest tunes, so if that won't make for THE ultimate best-of list, what would?
Don't expect too much for a few reasons. First, I haven't invested too much time in music - especially new music - past 2009; secondly, those .txt files dwelled on my computer for years without a direct purpose of publishing; lastly, and this is something I emphasize before posting these lists, because each list represents a preserved look back on my personal year in music without much revision. …

*** LIVELLO ZERO ***
Teho Teardo & Blixa Bargeld - Still Smiling

The years have come and gone, and yet for some odd reason I still receive requests for my 'Best Of' journal entries in Heavy Metal, as well as several other genres. Why I still receive these requests I have no idea, but I've relented on being an e-seclusionist curmudgeon and eternally lazy long enough to post my Best in Heavy Metal of 2011 list. I hope whatever poor soul or bored last.fm troll that reads this dated meandering of metal finds something that they haven't otherwise heard or thought to listen to since '11. Also, I encourage any suggestions for albums released in 2011 that I've omitted as it's painfully obvious from my list that I can't possibly listen to everything out there.
Journal entries for 2012 and 2013 are forthcoming. No, for real this time.
3 Feb 2014, 08:16 by irishtimEvery year I hope to get this list up earlier, but a new career change has consumed most of my time lately. I'm not complaining, I love my new job and I still get to listen to whatever I want all day, but I won't have as much time to spend searching for new music or contributing to this site.
I don't care if these lists don't get read all that much anymore- other than by a few of you dedicated last.fm'ers (you know who you are)- I still enjoy putting them together. Enough said, here's my list for 2013.

Arsonists Get All The Girls-Listen To The Color
The return of their former lead vocalist Remi Rodberg allowed Arsonists to return their earlier chaotic form. Not that I didn't enjoy their last two efforts, Portals and Motherland, I really did. …

4 Jan 2014, 10:46 by skimeMusical Summary - 2013
With album ranking and description - http://rateyourmusic.com/list/skime_/2013
I’m good-natured person and I don’t like giving bad marks to albums, because every artist are working hard for this what we’re listening.. So if there is a bad mark, it is really unpleasant sound for me. There are mostly albums of folk, viking, pagan, black, melodic death, doom, power, progressive, symphonic and heavy metal.
Meaning of marks:
< 4/10 - N/C
5/10 – Medium albums, not to say ... bad.
6/10 – Average albums, not really "thrilling".
7/10 – Good albums but no revelations, something is missing..
8/10 – Very good albums, they keep a nice level.
9/10 – Super albums, revelations of this year.
10/10 – Masterpieces, will be remembered for years.
Cult of Luna - Vertikal - 9.1/10
Hate - Solarflesh - 8.6/10
Fen - Dustwalker - 8.4/10
Hanging Garden - At Every Door - 8.3/10
Magic Circle - Magic Circle - 8.2/10
