Kuusumun profeetta (originally known as Moon Fog Project and later as Moon Fog Prophet) was founded in 1994 when Mikko Elo (bass guitar) and Mika Rättö (keyboards and vocals) met and decided to try combining their musical ideas. A little later they lured two gentlemen to play with them and so Teemu Majaluoma (guitar and vocals) and Daniel Finley (drums) joined the band. This four is a group of musicians not afraid of musical experiments and they are extremely dedicated in making music.

In 1996 Daniel Finley left the band and was replaced by Veli Nuorsaari (drums). Before they changed their name to Moon Fog Prophet they had already published two albums. Dim Dum Sing the Sun received positive critic but when When They Opened Their Parachutes was released… silence.

In 2000 the third album saw light and so MERN3336 - A Mirror To the Marble-Coated Solar System was born. A psychedelic album which atmosphere is almost frightening. After that the band began singin in Finnish and in 2001 Kukin Kaappiaan Selässään Kantaa -album was published. It was praised by critics. Around this period in the bands history Irina Niemelä(saxophone) joined them and their former drummer Daniel Finley returned(percussion and backing vocals).

Their next release Jatkuvasti Maailmaa Pelastamaan Kyllästynyt Supersankari -album(2002) got a tremendous response and even Mellow records in Italy was intrested about them. As their journey continued their group grew into a “8-piece war machine” as Jyrki Laiho(extra guitar) and Samuli Peltoniemi(Trumpet) joined The Prophets as regular musicians.

    Sen jälkeen kun näki ne biisit livenä, niin rupesi aukeamaan vähän paremmin. Kyllähän tää on edelleen Kuusumun "huonoin" levy, joka tarkoittanee siis 4½ tähteä, jos muut on viiden tähden arvoisia. Tästä puuttu jotain mitä niissä aiemmissa oli, mut helkutin hyvä siitä huolimatta.

    minullakin on vähän ongelmia uuden levyn kanssa. Periaatteessa se on tasoa "hyvä" ja sitä kuunnellessa kokee ihan hienoja hetkiä, mutta jokin siinä vain mättää. Ei oikein innosta kuuntelemaan enkä oikeastaan tiedä sopivaa mielentilaa sille. Ehkä vain odotin siltä liikoja tai en vain ole kuunnellut tarpeeksi. Vaikea sanoa.
