Kuanta is an electronic post rock band from Istanbul, Turkey. It was founded by Emre Güneş, Emre Kurtaran and Emre Doğan, in early 2007 just to be able to perform at the festival of Galatasaray University in Istanbul. Later, in order to meet the need for a bassist and to break the abundance of “Emre”s in the band, Murat Yılmaz joined to band. Because of the lack of equipment and concentration back then, gathering of the band took a few more months. Since all the members of the band took part in numerous bands and projects since the high school days; once the band crew adapted each other, Kuanta rapidly started to create their music. Within that short interval, 3 songs were composed. Besides the well-known names like Archive, Piano Magic and Death in Vegas, a song (Something About Us) by Daft Punk also has also swum in the seas of post rock. After an excellent and entertaining performance, the comments were very promising. The poor quality recordings of this show are still on Youtube, and still talked about.

At the end of 2007, Emre Güneş has also become the manager of the band and convinced other members to participate in the music contest of Boğaziçi University, Battle of Bands. As a result of this right decision, the band won the Jury Prize in the contest. One of the jur members, Güven Erkin Erkal shot a video clip for the song, Inbox.

During the mandatory military service of Emre Kurtaran, Kuanta gave a recess for 6 months. In the summer of 2008, 4 new songs were composed and in the autumn all the recordings were complete and a demo was ready. And recently (December 2009) a new song, Kaç Tavşan Kaç, was released on the website of the band, also where all the other tracks can be downloaded.
