• Descending Angel

This track got really stuck in my head yesterday. And yes, it's one of my favourite Misfits'95* songs; one of those late sleepers that hook you years after you start listening to a band.

And I feel that it's really one of their best tracks even though not one normally picked among fan favourites from "Famous Monsters" album (a role usually reserved for fenomenally campy Helena or the single Scream, which had it's video clip directed by none other than George Romero himself). Graves' vocal is at it's best here and, like in Dig Up Her Bones from American Psycho, works very well with the rest of song's atmosphere, instead of detracting from it.

This is indeed pretty weird, because Descending Angel is actually one of Kryst the Conqueror** songs that survived to our times in it's Misfits incarnation. However, Michale really manages to make it his own and it sounds great on the album.

I'm kind of glad that I don't remember ever having heard him butchering it live, on the other hand. …
