Based out of Staten Island, NY hip hop recording artist, Kritikal has been writing, recording and performing music since the age of 12. Now at 28, Kritikal is somewhat of a veteran to the Staten Island Hip Hop scene. Here’s an artist with “Hip-Pop” (urban/pop) appeal; capable of writing party anthems and pop songs alike.

Consider Kritikal a mash-up of B.o.B, Drake and Wiz Khalifia. Kritikal has been busy spreading his music from NY to MIA while continuing to write, perform and sell music.

In 2009, Kritikal signed a recording agreement with multi-platinum producer, Keith Clizark’s Team Mash’n Entertainment (A Universal Records imprint). He went on to successfully release his single, ”Miss NYC“, featuring Anthony M. which was well received averaging hundreds of spins per week at Top 40 radio stations across the country.

Miss NYC was also nominated for Best Hip Hop song at the 2010 Hollywood Music In Media Awards (HMMA), which took place in Los Angeles, CA and featured guests such as Smokey Robinson, Leah Remini, Natasha Henstridge, Eric Roberts and more. Kritikal’s 2012 nomination at the HMMA’s in for his single “Fade Away”, off his album “The New Drug” prior to the album’s release, marked his third consecutive nomination since “Miss NYC” was first nominated in 2010. Miss NYC was licensed and featured in the hit show “Franklin and Bash” airing on the TNT network.

Kritikal signed with Genius Mindz, an Entertainment company and record label. Kirk Burrowes, co-founder of Bad Boy Records with Sean “Diddy” Combs handles administration and other responsibilities for company.

The New Drug is Kritikal’s first album since being signed to Genius Mindz and tours around the country with DunkXchange & Sneaker Pimps performing songs from The New Drug album and other songs from his music catalog.

As songs from the album spread across the web and air waves, expect big things from this native New Yorker!!
