Time has come, the peace can't stand
Masters of the switch now rule the earth
Push their switch and send the death

Yes, the chorus sounds like Strike Of The Beast, and nothing wrong with that. Strike Of The Beast is a great song. Total Death is a great song. Metallica has Trapped Under Ice, which Kirk took the riff from the Exodus song Impaler. All great songs. Its all good, just rock out!

v Whatever gave you that idea? 1984 was not the stone age and we had already a postal system, you know. Tape trading started as part of the mail art movement in the 1970s. Rough Trade played a key role as one of the first distributors and then came the fanzines. A whole generation of fanzines was built upon tape trading and in the early 80s every metalhead with an interest in underground music was into it. Believe me, i was there ;-) I remember watching the "Get thrashed" documentary the other day and they mentioned the importance of tape trading via fanzines back then by saying, "Tape trading was kinda like an early version of the internet". And that's true. Fanzines and independent distributors operated worldwide since the late 1970s.

It was unlikely that demo tapes could reach other continents back in 1984.

Strike of the Beast was first released on the "A Lesson in Violence" tape in 1984. Mille and Ventor were both tape traders back then, so....

The_Gravedigger, that's not quite right, Mad Butcher has been on "Sentence of Death" in 1984 so it's actually older than Total Death. But I don't think that they try to copy the song just came to the riff by trying to play Mad Butcher or they were both trying to sound like some even older band i don't really know^^

Those who think that Kreator have ripped off Destruction: that's impossible. "Mad Butcher" was released in 1987, "Total Death" was released in 1985. "Strike of the Beast" was released in 1985, too, but I don't know which one was released first. But I think a rip-off is very unlikely.
