About This Track

According to the Computer Love Songfacts, the subject matter of this song, looking for romance via the computer, was a remarkable prediction of the future as it was written many years before online dating. In the early 1980s computers were large, impersonal, incommunicative things and not many could have foreseen their use as a vehicle for communicating with others.

FUCK Chris Martin and FUCK Cuntplug. I don't care whether they had permission or not. What they did to this tune is a disgrace and an insult to the human ear - as most of their overproduced , pathetic muzak.

all you coldplay haters - chris martin requested and received approval from kraftwerk to use the melody. so it's not really a rip off. <----- This. There are lots of reasons to hate Coldplay, but that isn't one of them.

absolute classic. I like this better than the version from The Mix. I wouldn't mind if the song was even several minutes longer

Actually, it doesn't really bother me at all. I don't like Coldplay, Kraftwerk is great. Coldplay took some inspiration from Kraftwerk. They came close to copying the original material. Oh well.

I don't know how I feel about having first heard this as a Coldplay song. I guess it doesn't really bother me, especially if they requested permission to use the melody. It would have been nice if they gave credit more obviously, though, just because they changed so little compared to the original.
