Kool G Rap (born Nathaniel Wilson July 20, 1968) is an American hardcore rapper from Queens, New York, United States. He began his career with the Juice Crew in the 1980s but achieved little commercial success.

  • 4, 5, 6 is minimalistic, fucken raw. Kool G Rap's advantages is his straight up skills (rhythm, breathing techniques & wild use of multiple syllables) & his imposing lyrical themes & realness. NOT "innovation", even though The Symphony was the first commercially successfull battle-style posse cut, but G Rap hasnt been experimental since, or ever. MF Grimm's raw, stripped down percussion, scarce samples & melancholy ambience made it FAR GREATER, production-wise, than roots of evil & giancana story. Both amazing albums, G Rap never disappoints, but they were both pretty mainstream & standardized, not half as well adapted to accentuate & bring out G Rap's original & masterful spittin

  • IMO 4,5,6 is his strongest release. His flow & his lyrics destroy it for me. Not many hip hop artists touch it when it comes to style and focus.
  • Roots of Evil is a much stronger release for me.
  • I'll probably always consider Live and Let Die his best album.
  • 4,5,6 doesn't do anything that hasn't been done before in one way or another, and hardly has any significant impact on hip hop. It's a solid release no doubt, but now thinking about it, it really shouldn't be considered a classic.
