Andrew “Koji” Shiraki is an American artist and activist from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA. He can be seen advocating with organizations such as Resolve on behalf of the child soldiers being used by the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) in central and east Africa as well as Humility Now to help raise awareness about the homeless right here in the United States. His concerts feature a combination of music, storytelling, media and visual art, all aimed at empowering youth to create positive, lasting change and build community.

Recently named one of Alternative Press magazine’s “100 Bands To Know For 2011, “ word of Koji’s talent is spreading fast. He is signed with Run for Cover Records and continues to build a strong following with his solid music and mission to seek positive change, locally and globally.

In 2010, Koji released 4 records, each a unique effort. Seaside Sessions was a raw session tape that came together in one day with producer Gabe Liberti at Seaside Lounge in Brooklyn (The National, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists). Koji landed with new home with Run For Cover Records, quickly putting out two CDs: Spring Song Vol. 1 - a full-length live record tracked at intimate house shows on Koji’s spring tour, and Some Small Way - Koji’s first full band release. Finally, No Sleep Records released a full-length 12” vinyl split with Chicago’s Into It. Over It.

"Enough with the screaming bullshit". Love me some screaming bullshit every now and then but I must agree, soft La Dispute is nice and I've never really got into their heavier side. I don't get why so many people don't like the split / only like one artist on the split. I find all the songs great, especially Biomusicology.
