• Tatsuya Yoshida is a maniac
• Molavena is still God!
• According to their facebook page, they played a new song at the concert in Tokyo two months ago. That's the closest word.
• Anyone have info on a new album? It's been ten years since Angherr Shisspa already, and even Koenji High with those two new songs is five years old.
• If I had to pick between going to a Boris and a Koenjihyakkei gig, I would probably prefer sitting at home with a good home cooked meal and popping in some good old Boredoms.
• Grotesque and annoying? Sounds intense to me.
• @OcellatedGod vales verga.
• It's not intense, just grotesque and annoying.
• This band is fucking nuts, haha...it's rare that I find music too intense for me, but zeuhl is outside of Eskaton. It'll likely grow on me though, some cool ideas in this genre...
• Stop talking about how to tag the name and more about the amazing music! It's Amazing!
• There is no one official name for the band. Various official sources have romanised it as Koenji Hyakkei, Koenjihyakkei, KoenjiHyakkei, Koenji-Hyakkei and others. The last.fm site rules explicitly say that names in foreign languages should be in their native character set and Koenjihyakkei is unquestionably Japanese so 高円寺百景 is the correct tag. It's also worth noting that their name is written as 高円寺百景 on several of their album covers as well (such as their first three studio albums and Live at Star Pine's Cafe).
• So while all the album covers say Koenjihyakkei should we be tagging it the other way? Does anyone know what the 'official' name for the band is?
• They're working on new material!
• Already done, but the way last.fm's corrections system works means that it'll probably never happen because whoever uploaded their music to last.fm uploaded it tagged as Koenjihyakkei. It's the same reason all of Spotify's mistaggings remain in the database - too many people have played the wrong tags for tag corrections to take effect, even if MusicBrainz and other sources say they should be something else. There's basically no chance of the tags being corrected until MusicBrainz integration is worked into last.fm (if that ever even happens), so we're unfortunately likely to be left with Koenjihyakkei split over two tags.
• 高円寺百景 and Koenji Hyakkei appear to have been merged, so please suggest a correction for Koenjihyakkei to one of the first two
• According to this thread they're supposed to be tagged as 高円寺百景 in the first place.
• From now I scrobble them as 高円寺百景. [2]
• Lovely band..
• I adore, have been obsessed with Koenjihyakkei. The awesomeness makes me weep aghast at the pure awesomeness.
• KOËNJÏ ISS DËH HÜNDÏN!!!
• generic
• From now I scrobble them as 高円寺百景.
• LOL at "yoshida-core". J-Zeuhl is fine. A bit too generic but fine.
• zjeuhl?
• We need term for all j-zeuhl, not only for Yoshida's projects. F.e., [artist]Happy Family[/artist] are Japanese zeuhl indeed, but you can't call them "yoshida-core" because Yoshida never played with them, AFAIK.
• inb4 "progressive-opera-yoshida-core"
• i vote for "yoshida-core"
• I think we need a special term for Japanese zeuhl. What about "jeuhl"?
