    It's time for my yearly journal entry again.

    Best releases of this year, in alphabetic order:

    Axiome - Ten Hymns For Sorbetière Or How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Freezer (Ant-Zen)
    Axiome (a collaboration of Imminent and C-Drík) is back after 11 years, and as should be expected, the new album sounds nothing like the previous ones. The first Axiome CD 'Rictus' from 1999 is one of my all time favourites, but their second one changed the style completely and I think I've listened to it maybe three times ever. Not my thing at all. This new one is a lot less noisy than their early works were, could be classified as IDM, I guess. Experimental without being too chaotic, a very interesting album.

    Dirk Geiger – Elf Morgen (Tympanik)
    Dirk Geiger's previous album had some good material, but had too much soundscape type of stuff instead of recognisable tracks. On this one, the background noises and field recordings are still there sometimes, but in addition to that there are also some brilliant melodies and beats. …
