About This Track

“Atlantis to Interzone” is a song by British indie electro act Klaxons, released June 12 2006. The song references the mythical lost city of Atlantis and the short story collection, “Interzone” by William S. Burroughs, which is itself Burroughs’ concept of a “metaphorical stateless city”.

It was the Klaxons first release for independent record label Merok Records, and led to further coverage in the UK music magazine NME. The song enjoyed BBC radio coverage from Zane Lowe and daytime airings from Jo Whiley, who repeatedly, and mistakenly, called the song “Atlantic To Interscope”. Zane Lowe also wrongly credited the song as “Atlantis To Interscope”.

The song has been remixed by many artists including Crystal Castles, Hadouken!, Germlin, Mr Miyagi, Third Eye Mafia and Metronomy. The song’s music video was styled by Carri Mundane.

It has been used in a Ben 10 commercial on Cartoon Network, and features on the soundtrack to Need for Speed: ProStreet.[3] French electronic music duo Justice has also recently used a sample from this song on their live album A Cross the Universe.
