"The Exposures" is not referring to a fictional support band, it is rather signifying the music Jan Jelinek has himself exposed to. It is his sources and their samples which are obviously more exposed on this album than on his preceding ~scape album Loop-Finding-Jazz-Records.
With plenty of musical history and an unfettered passion for contemporary club tracks Stefan Betke aka Pole is probably best known for his minimal dub sounds between the clicks and cuts of modern electronica.
Farben is a microhouse project of Jan Jelinek with influence from soul and funk. As Farben he focuses more on the dance aspect and is more minimalistic compared to music released under his real name. He is best categorized by heavily use of clicks and cuts, complicated rhythms, loops and elements of microsound.
Better known for his work as Akufen, Marc Leclair released in 2005 an album called ”Musique Pour 3 Femmes Enceintes”, integrating instrumental tones, outer-space noises accompanied by malfunctioning machinery pounding with a crackling heartbeat of sound.
There are multiple bands using the name Deadbeat: 1. Though based in Montreal, Deadbeat and his ultra-textured ambient dub soundscapes made their way around the world, finding large audiences in Europe as well as in North America. Deadbeat producer Scott Monteith is a member of the same fertile Montreal scene that includes such luminaries as Akufen (Marc Leclair) and Algorithm (Jeff Milligan).
Martin Abrahamsson - Born 1979, grew up outside a small town in Nowhere, Sweden. Began experimenting with electronic sounds in 1994, kept developing the sound that in 1998 would become Bauri. Sounds from distorted dirty electronics to fall in love with slow moody minimalism & simple beautiful melodies.
Mark Fell and Mat Steel formed SND in 1998 and were quickly placed at the forefront of new digital minimalism. With a series of influential releases on their own label SND and on the now defunct Frankfurt Mille Plateaux, SND pioneered a sound that combined the linear minimalism of Ryoji Ikeda and Oval, with the rhythmic geometry of techno artists such as Thomas Brinkmann or Derrick May.
Twerk is synonymous with machine inclination, his concepts becoming simulations, and the music itself dealing with the paradigm of recontextualizing existing sounds in a complex and dynamic environment utilizing custom designed software and field recording devices.
There are two different projects/acts named Bus. 1.
Bus, a duo consisting of Daniel Meteo & Tom Thiel, playing minimal dub enriched by minimal electronics and hip hop. worked together with MC Soom-T, most releases under ~scape 2.
