A good compilation of classic era Kiss, 80s Kiss and Revenge tracks (great album) with a live touch (let's face it, it's mostly studio). It's not Alive! or even Alive II but you can't expect that since it's 1993 and not the original Kiss anymore. This one has other redeeming qualities, like the tight sound and the very different drumming style which give the classic songs a new touch. I'm a HUGE fan of Ace but I don't even miss him here since the band does it so differently from Ace's style. In a way Paul's singing is at its peak on this album, although I do like his early unpolished vocals too. Some reviews call this album "pointless" because it doesn't continue the Alive tradition of not reusing songs from earlier live albums. That makes no sense, should every band's live albums be like that, then? Also, make sure to get the version with "Take It Off!"

I have this on CD. It's okay... The mastering is strangely lacking in bass and all the drums click rather than beat, in a way that very much reminds me of Metallica's '...And Justice For All'. But, for a live album, it's not that bad. The performances are great.

Quinze anos depois, sem mascaras e já sem dois integrantes originais, Kiss mostra uma face bem diferente dos dois “alives” anteriores. Agora, com o som bem mais moderno e pesado, a banda relembra poucos sucessos antigos e mostra músicas de álbuns posteriores a 1978. Apesar da ótima seleção de hits, “Alive III” não teve tanto sucesso como era esperado. A performance intocavel dos músicos, principalmente os impressionantes vocais de Paul Stanley, infelizmente já não se parecem mais com a mesma banda dos anos setenta. “Heaven’s On Fire”, “Lick it Up”, “I Was Made For Loving You” e “I Love It Loud” são os destaques para quem queria ouvi-las com a energia da banda ao vivo. Em meio a era Grunge, “Alive III” ainda assim pode ser considerado um dos melhores álbuns de hard rock dessa época.
