The 9 minute version on the 40th anniversary edition is much better, cuts out 3 mins of the annoying noodling and leaves the atmospheric bits.

    The dissonance tickles your brain.

The instrumental is the best bit. Just soothes my body.

The part at 06:45, with good earbuds, wow. They don't utilize stereo like that anymore.

I love King Crimson, and I honestly think that this composition is just 2:30 of a beautiful song and then like 9:40 of anything but not the song. Those of you who faps on that 10 minutes of i don't even know how to call this, ending, and those who found a deep meaning in this.. you look funny to say the least.

You don' t have to despise those who do not understand what-the-f*** is a free improvisation . We all have a different PERCEPTION of what we hear / listen. Writing posts like the one right under is a form of (ost)racism. Because that' s stupidly elitist.

There is absolutely no way that this song should work but it does. It should be pretentious, but I don't feel it. I think it's fantastic.

This song requires complete concentration. Lay down in the dark with a pair of big earmuff headphones, and concentrate on the individual instruments. And then get your head blown off when The Court of the Crimson King comes at you out of nowhere.
