Parallel World (3:02)

“Parallel World” is the third part of a tetralogy of pop folk songs about unrequited love and idealization that moves from the innocent naivete of “Crawling After You” to the beginnings of critical self-spectatorship in the gently playful sarcasm of “Pedestal” and “Paper Cup” and, finally here, to an interrogation of the concept of love as a social construction within love songs and other forms of cultural production such as novels, films and television.
