Kent DuChaine is one of the greatest living practitioners of authentic Mississippi Delta Blues. A fan since childhood of delta legend Robert Johnson (who only recorded eleven tracks before his death in 1938, but whose legacy still lives today), he learnt his craft playing alongside Johnny Shines, a guitarist who fifty years earlier had himself been a pupil of Johnson’s.
As well as Johnson material, Kent’s shows feature songs by Muddy Waters, T-Bone Walker, Lightening Hopkins, and other masters, all played with a ferociously wild slide technique on DuChaine’s authentic 1934 National Steel guitar.
