Kendall Ditommaso is a 20 year old Junior studying Music Business at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. Her primary instrument is the flute, which she started playing in 4th grade, and has been singing since the age of 13. Kendall did not have vocal lessons- but taught herself.
In her Freshman year of high school, Kendall started, participated in and managed an oldies girl group called “The Tutti-Fruitties”. The group featured 3 of her best friends from school. They focused on recreating the sounds of the great girl groups from the 50’s and 60’s- . A good relationship with a local radio station, WATD 95.9fm helped The Tutti-Fruitties take advantage of various connections- leading to performing on the same bill as several popular names in the oldies music genre, including Shirley Alston Reeves and the Shirelles, Charlie Thomas and the Drifters, Freddy “Boom Boom” Cannon, The Crystals, The Olympics, The Tokens, and several more. The group released a 5 track album, recorded at Level One Studios in Pembroke, MA in 2005. In 2007 the group disbanded when the members went their separate ways for their college education. They reunited a few times since to pay tribute to their good friend George Denham, who passed away in January 2007 at the “Yesterday’s Memories” Annual Marshfield Fair Show.
In High School, Kendall auditioned to perform with The Barenaked Ladies, Kenny Loggins, and Michael Crawford as part of a small choir of select high school students. She performed with BNL 2 nights at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston during their Barenaked for the Holidays Christmas Tour, and once with Michael Crawford and Kenny Loggins, both at Foxwoods Casino in Rhode Island.
