What a sweet song! It's delightful post-"Barberella" arrangement by Joe Renzetti reminds me of the prototypical Burt Bacharach style, as delirously happy a song about being in love as you'll ever find (without being sung to the person one's in love with). It's also one of a handful of songs where the verses are louder, more dynamic, than the chorus. Hard to not feel good listening to this splendid little masterpiece that captures a flavor of 1966-67's pop ethos like few songs have. Tony Powers' lyrics and George Fischoff''s music deserved the million copies this single sold. Bravo, Keith!

Unfortunately, this isn't the original. Fortunately, I have the ORIGINAL hit version, on both vinyl and CD. Consider this my all-time favorite. It was a hit in '66.
