Lucifer rose up to kiss the analgesic dawn While below, Something rolled the stone away Something makes sense in ripples Gradually, I saw Abuse is a Name And ghosts will seem forever Less fantastic Oh gosh, theese must be the most intense and introspective lyrics ever. I wonder why they skip over them and the ones above them, or do they have some weird phrasing that I can't understand? Anyway, this is a monstrous opener and one of the best songs by Kayo Dot.

Byron's lyricism is just incredible, and Toby's appropriation of it is flawless. That delivery, man.

"Tell me why world, unfathomable and good, the beauty of everything is infinite and cruel. An airplane, a puppet, an orange, a spoon, a window, and outside, stars and the moon". This part really hits me for some reason. It makes me feel very... introspective.

So, what you're saying is...the lyrics are all about dropping acid, right?

so fucking terrifying, in the best way. how the horns and woodwinds segue into the crushing riffs near the beginning is so perfect.

Amazing lyrics. I get them fully. And what's great about them is you can't explain what's to get - you either feel it in your soul or your don't. "Our eyelashes weaken with a weight that is sweet and fine. And this feels like frogs and spiders in the sweet outside. Tell me why world, unfathomable and good... the beauty of everything is infinite and cruel? An airplane, a puppet, an orange, a spoon... a window, an outside, the stars and the moon"

I tossed this band aside for a longggggg time because I always thought they were too "pretentious". I'm so stupid...this is fucking amazing

New one on me... First time I have ever listened to a song and felt genuine fear. Of what? No idea. Maybe it was the rug being pulled from under me, from 2:30 on, I was. Lost. Excellent.
