Haha, die meisten Leute die sich drücken Emo oder ähnliches in den Mund zu nehmen haben nur Angst, dass ihre coolen Freunde sie auslachen weil sie solche Musik hören und das heutzutage wohl ein komisches Licht auf einen fallen lässt - oder weil sie Bock haben den pseudointellektuellen Freigeist raushängen zu lassen wie bei solchen Gesprächen. Ich hab die Diskussion auch noch nie bei anderen Musikrichtung gehört - Rock sagt man doch auch! Fazit: Musik kann man sehr wohl kategorisieren - Bei Menschen sollte man das lassen...

Ich meinte das nur, um zu zeigen, dass es Emo gibt und wenn ich jetzt sage, dass sich "richtiger" Emo von der heutigen Auffassung unterscheidet und der Begriff falsch verwendet wird, heißt das nicht, dass ich das schlimm finde oder etwas gegen die aktuelle "Emobewegung" habe, aber ich sehe es als Tatsache (ohne weltverändernde Bedeutung). ;)

Das ist aber die zweite Welle und selbst diese hat somit die Wurzeln im Punk. Ohne erste Welle, welche ausm Hardcore Punk entsprang, gäbe es nun mal keine zweite. Ich kenne zwar nicht so viele Lieder von Katzenstreik, jedoch muss ich sagen, dass mich diese an Sunny Day Real Estate erinnern, also zweite Welle. Von daher wäre Emo Punk, deiner Meinung nach, schon mal doppelt falsch ;)

@meeresfrucht Emopunk ist einfach einer der nutzlosesten Begriffe, welche es gibt. Genauso wie Fun Punk z.B. Ist es kein Punk mehr, wenn es "lustig" sein soll? Klar, dafür muss gleich eine neue Genrebezeichnung erfunden werden. Mal ganz davon abgesehen, dass Emo Hardcore Punk ist. Somit ist Emo schon Punk. Du sagst ja auch nicht Popular Pop oder sowas.
