EternalExodus gets it. Music with a pop influence doesn't automatically make said music 'bad' - it depends on how you use said influence. [2]

to be honest, much of the great cold distance is, for lack of a better word, 'pop.' the song structures are simplistic and straightforward; the vocals are clean and they lay at the forefront; and the balance between percussion, rhythmic melody, and vocal are perfectly in proportion with a ton of pop songs. that said, this format lays the groundwork for some of the finest music katatonia has ever penned, including deliberation: the track structure is reminiscent of radio pop, but the instrumentation is entirely different. the percussive, melodic, and harmonic structures are complex and layered; jonas's vocal is passionate and affective; and the overall tone is far more aggressive and depressive than anything you'd likely hear on top 40 radio. it's incredible that this band can keep pumping out these amazing songs with heavy rock sounds and pop structures, and make them refreshing and original. long live katatonia.

Need to change the version to lose the advertisement for the album. Annoying as others have pointed out.

Actually I just heard it too and I'm listening to it on last.fm, not something I downloaded off of Pirate Bay or something. I already bought this album anyway. A bit annoying.

One of my favorite songs by my favorite band. I don't know what it is about it, but that chorus is just plain sexy.

Heard it too. So you are not crazy or high. I heard twice so far. "You're listening to the song "Deliberation" from the forthcoming Katatonia album "The Great Cold Distance."
