About This Track

Vlad the Impaler was released as a free download on Kasabian’s website for a period of 4 days beginning March 31st 2009.

It is the first release from the bands forthcoming album West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum. However, the album’s first official physical single was the track “Fire”, released June 1st 2009.

Pizzorno told the NME: “I knew the moment I wrote the riff it was going to be massive.” He added: “I like that Tom and my voices swap over.” (Source Vlad The Impaler Songfacts).

The promo video for the single stars Noel Fielding of The Mighty Boosh fame playing the eponymous impaler.
