Learn more about scrobbling

Karmatruffle started life as a Bevis Frond tribute act in 2003. Unfortunately, no-one had heard of The Bevis Frond so bookings were scarce. The band decided to write their own material instead. The first line-up featured Bernard Blake on guitar and vocals, Magda McCaffrey (nee Singer) on bass and vocals and Amanda Ranson on drums. Jamie Jordan replaced Ranson on the drum stool in 2004 and lead guitarist Paul Kench was recruited the same year. This line-up found themselves signed to London’s Ectomusic label in 2005 for whom they cut a successful single, ‘She’s Not All That’. McCaffrey left the band soon afterwards, to be replaced by Sarah Anthony and Karmatruffle recorded their debut album, ‘What You Do Comes Back To You’ in Fall 2005. With the departure of lead singer and songwriter Blake to pursue a solo career in April 2006, the band quietly went their separate ways leaving behind a small but impressive catalogue of songs.
