Early in their career, the band was quite unknown and released a few maxi singles between 2003-2005, while performing various live shows throughout Japan.

2005 was a big year for the band as they debuted overseas in the United States at Jrock Connection and returned the next year in 2006. Ryu the bassist left the band in 2006.

A new bassist called Sakika joined in 2007 and they also performed at FanimeCon in the same year. They released quite a few releases, one being a live limited USA album and a live in the USA concert DVD.

At the beginning of 2009, Sakika decided to leave the band, due to musical differences. After his departure the 4 remaining members decided to go on a activity pause.

It hasn't happened in a while but I wish people wouldn't call this band a Kagrra rip-off. Firstly, Kagrra isn't the only visual kei band with Asian music influences. One of the main ones, but not the ONLY one. Karma-Shenjing is more Chinese-inspired than Japanese-inspired anyway. Sorry, I just felt the need to say that. :I

Karma Shenjing just had a fantastic concert at JRock Con in Santa Clara Marriott in California over the Thanksgiving Weekend. So yes, not only are they still making music, they are planning performing more often in the US. If you missed them this time, don;t worry as they are coming back to California sometime this year via JRock Connection.
