Black Skinhead (3:08)

Cover of Yeezus

From Yeezus and 2 other releases

“Black Skinhead” is a song by American hip hop recording artist Kanye West from his sixth studio album Yeezus (2013). The song was released as the first single from the album on July 4, 2013. The song has since peaked at number 69 on the Billboard Hot 100.
It’s also probably the most compelling song on Yeezus, an exceedingly visceral (and even sneaky-catchy) listen, with Kanye as in-the-zone as we’ve ever heard him, ranting “Enter the kingdom / But watch who you bring home / They see a black man with a white woman at the top floor they gone come to kill King Kong. ” By the time he peaks with his screaming at the end of the chorus, it sounds like a natural release of all the pent-up fury ‘Ye’s built over the course of the song, and his ending exhortations of “God!” don’t seem like a self-proclamation as much as the rapper just unsure of any other way to vent his bile. Rarely in pop music do you find rage this focused, this brilliantly translated.
