In addition to being the leader of Asia Minor, he is an instructor in the Department of Music and Performing Arts at Yıldız Technical University. Erdem was a member of Oriental Wind from 1981-1986, and a guest for the Egyptian group Sharkiat in 1995. In 2001, he released the solo album A Tale of Bass, in which he projects his impressions of the music of various countries in compositions for solo bass, using several techniques he developed himself.
