16 Aug 2008, 12:32 by RecurringDreamsSo many people ”these days” thinks that the 21th century has ”only” brought us bad music, I think that’s mostly because lots n’ lots of people got stuck with the label ”progressive” back when Pink Floyd was still around. Maybe that’s a bit excessive, but I think you know what I mean, or hope so at least. Don’t get me wrong, there’s still plenty of good prog. music out there ie. Porcupine Tree, Tool, Dream Theater (NightwishI am told). Because of inspiration from another post I will now post a “top 25” on 21th century albums. It won’t be a top 25 really, I will just pick some of what I think is better, if I was to make an actual “Top 25” I would be up all night to choose…and even then I wouldn’t be able to be finished. Now without further small talk:
25: The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place - Explosions in the Sky
This album pretty much introduced me to EitS, and it was the first song “First Breath After Coma” which did the trick, at first. …
14 Dec 2007, 04:06 by Bobes3.12.2007 - Talk Amongst the Trees
5.12.2007 - Sung Tongs
10.12.2007 - Weapons Of Jazz Destruction
11.12.2007 - Burial - Untrue - strange album, but very interesting
21.01.2008 - Kaizers Orchestra - Maestro - like albums before but more funnier ;) Těším se na jejich koncert v Akropoli http://www.last.fm/event/453641
22.01.2008 - Biffy Clyro - Infinity Land - They're guests on this concert (http://www.last.fm/event/400511), so I wanted to know what they're playing. Nothing new, some tracks are ok, but little bit boring. Maybe after the concert I will change my mind.
06.03.2008 - The Soundtrack of Our Lives - Extended Revelation - very interesting music group for me, old sound, new style
22.4.2008 - Amon Tobin - Foley Room - not as good as previous albums, but concert was nice

16 Mar 2006, 00:27 by ElBandidoI just came back from a rather good concert of Kaizers Orchestra in the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels. I got to know them some two-three years ago, when they played at a local youthhouse, which was just after the release of Evig pint in Norway, but they were still promoting Ompa til du dør in the rest of Europe.
The main thing why I went to the gig was probably them being Scandinavian, as I'm rather intruiged by everything (most things) from those regions (especially Sweden though). And I think I was getting really into Tom Waits around that time, so that comparison seemed interesting to me too.
The show was simply mesmerizing. The banging on the oildrums, the pumporgan and upright bass and the energy with which they played: it all seemed so original to me. So I bought the first album and a t-shirt after the gig, they were just that good!
When Evig pint was released here too, it took me a while to finally get it (only happened during the last summer I think). …
