Biography

Kaddisfly is an band hailing from Portland, Oregon; they are currently on hiatus. An unconventional juxtaposition of sensibility and harmonies, laced with the airy, sweet vocals of Chris Ruff, the band has been an impressive force ever since the 2001 release of the Honorable Mention EP.

The following year, they released the Humania EP, another strong effort, giving nods to bands like Incubus and Lostprophets.

In 2003, Kaddisfly released their first full-length, entitled, “Did You Know People Can Fly?”. DYKPCF? was an impressive mix of songs that helped propel the band to tour nearly year round. DYKPCF? was followed by their critically acclaimed and verbacious 2005 release, “Buy Our Intention; We’ll buy you a Unicorn”. Released on Hopeless Records, the band’s first release with their new label, Kaddisfly grew in popularity with their single/video for “New Moon Over Swift Water”. The band continued to tour nonstop at venues throughout the country.

The Four Seasons EP was released online and at shows on September 12th, 2006. It included four songs off their upcoming release, “Set Sail the Prairie” (March 6th, 2007) and one b-side titled, “Games”. The EP was given great reviews and made fans and newcomers excited about their upcoming full-length release.

Dear Kaddisfly, I demand Horses Galloping, plus another all new album, plus an EP for this insolence. Stop wasting everyone's time trying to have "a life", or "a family", or trolling with other fruitless projects, come back now I say!!!

Redcalicovest is one of the most pretentious d-bags I've heard on this site. The only criticism I could see is that the singer has kind of a grating voice, but even still, he hits all his notes live and I would never consider him as awful. Plus, his lyrics are amazing, far better than any "modern" progressive rock band I've heard. Listening to obscure progressive rock and screamo bands does not make you superior over anyone. I'll never understand anyone who feels the need to leave a hate comment on a band page... do you really want attention that bad?

The vocalist has an awful voice, and the instrumentation is forgettable and boring. This band mixes everything that is bad with the modern rock and progressive rock scene (emphasis on "modern") and puts out mediocre material swallowed by fans of equally generic bands such as Trophy Scars.

I don't know about anyone else but Kaddisfly was amazing...and SSTP is easily my favorite album of all time...but I think W&B is fricken terribly boring and it's made even worse knwoing that the band basically IS Kaddisfly.

Water & Bodies are writing a second album and already have a lot of releases. I guess Kaddisfly may come back fall 2012/early 2013.
