  • Did I Stutter?

    18 Jul 2009, 12:18 by nooshie

Don't recall how, but I somehow stumbled across Blender's list of best stuttering songs and was completely shocked that I hadn't yet made a mix on that theme. So, I'm going to make one now, as a belated birthday present for Jen, and here's my shortlist so far, but any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated:

    Duran Duran - The Reflex
Elton John - Benny and the Jets
    Rooney - Shakin'
Pavement - AT&T (Ok, I admit this one's a bit weak as far as the stuttering goes, but it's a good song)
    David Bowie - Changes
    Duran Duran - Notorious
    The Sylvers - Boogie fever
Bachman Turner Overdrive - You Ain't seen Nothing yet
    The Kinks - Lola
    Mel And Kim - Respectable
    The Knack - My Sharona
The Beach Boys - Barbara Ann
The Beatles - Back in the USSR
    Devo - Uncontrollable Urge
    Foxx - S-s-s-single Bed
George Thorogood and the Destroyers - Bad to the bone
Grandmaster Flash and Melle Mel - White Lines
Queens of the Stone Age - Feelgood hit of the summer
    The Who - My generation
The Dismemberment Plan - Girl O'clock
Junior Senior - Move Your Feet
KC and the Sunshine Band - Boogie Shoes

The concept of this immediately made me think of Jen, but once I started looking into it and thinking about it a bit more, the tracklist started looking like a Gold 104 playlist with only a couple of more up-to-date tracks thrown in. Just like all of Jen's best mixes.

Oh yes, and I do have a cover image in mind (too bad I don't think Jen watches the US Office so it might not mean much to her):

  • Busy P - "To Protect and Entertain (Mr Oizo Remix)"

    6 Aug 2008, 09:15 by Cassius_K

Busy P is the Ed Banger Records boss!
But sometimes also produces some coooool tracks too...On June he released the album PlayPedrophilia that contains PlayPedrophilia and To Protect and Entertain with four "first-class" remixes.

Let's focus on To Protect and Entertain (Mr Oizo Remix), by Mr. Oizo; he embellished this awsome track with a couple of really famous and well chopped samples:

It's just my guess but I can fell a little fragment ofThat's The Way I Like It by KC & The Sunshine Band:

And in the final part we can discover that the whole drum part is nothing but a well chopped and reprogrammed famous intro of PlayWe Will Rock You by Queen.

  • My Top Tracks

    14 Apr 2008, 18:29 by classic_sinful

Just listing all the songs that are sinfuliciously great. Please note that these are in no particular order

Living Colour - PlayCult Of Personality

This song's main riff is awesomeness on its own, and the great solo makes it all just better.

    Motörhead - PlayAce Of Spades

Another delicious guitar work along with killer matching vocals.

    Sweet - PlayBallroom Blitz

The drums, the guitar, the (freakin' amazing) vocals, everything in this song makes you want to dance.
And I have to tell ya, I don't really like dancing.

    Black Sabbath - PlayIron Man

This is fucking epic. Anyone that disagrees with me shall burn in hell.

    Dick Dale - PlayMisirlou

Many people might remember this from PlayPump It by the Black Eyed Peas or from the Pulp Fiction Soundtrack, but we all know this song is old as fuck.

And boy, does it rocks our socks.

    The Strokes - PlayReptilia

Some might hate the groaning vocals (which I rather enjoy), but everyone stays with that damn happy riff playing in the head for days after listening to it.
Tada, tadata, tada, tadata, tude, tudute, tude, tudute...

    Slayer - PlayRaining Blood

This song will make you want to sell your soul to the Devil.
    Or have sex with him.
    Or both.

    At the same time.

    Buckethead - Jordan

Call it mainstream, but it still makes me cum smile and press invisible buttons around me.
    Fuckin' Bucketboy is the shit.

Rage Against the Machine - PlaySleep Now in the Fire

The main riff (it's Tom Morello we're talking about here, people) is absolutely... Enraging.
Probably the song I'd choose if I were ever going to kill the president of the United States of America.

    Muse - Knights of Cydonia

I actually find myself singing this. And I SUCK at singing. Really happy song.

The Beatles - Anna (Go to Him)

While it is actually a cover, it's much better than the original version. A sad riff, a sad drum beat, a sad bass line, sad vocals... It almost makes me want to cry.
The song I want playing in my funeral, seriously.

The Doors - Riders on the Storm

I first listened this as a remix version in Need for Speed Underground and it was love at first... Listen (wtf).
Needless to say, the original version is way better than Snoop Dogg's.

    The Turtles - PlayHappy Together

Not the greatest song ever, but the lyrics and the rhythm are cute.

    Ok, that sounded gay.

    Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song

I don't really like them, but this song is an exception. Gotta love the 'aaaaaaaaaah' in the beginning and the guitar riff.

Cansei de Ser Sexy - PlayLet's Make Love and Listen Death From Above

Influence from my girlfriend. Really great band overall, but this specific song has an awesome funky beat that makes me drool.

    The Fratellis - PlayChelsea Dagger
PARA, PARAPA, PARA, PARAPA, PARA, PARAPOWN...
    I actually headbang to this.

DragonForce - PlayThrough the Fire and Flames

Say whatever you want about this band, just don't say they're not INSANELY FUCKIN' FAST.
    I like it.

Steve Ouimette - The Devil Went Down To Georgia

The original version is great on its own, but this metal version is the one we play on Guitar Hero 3... Which makes it delicious.

    Metallica - Enter Sandman

Not exactly their best song or anything; it's actually really catchy.
    I love cacthy songs.

Mattias IA Eklundh - PlayPrint This!

The first song I heard from him, and also the one I like the most.

Dead Kennedys - California Über Alles

I actually created a beat chart for it. Just tap your hands on any surface:
    (L = Left hand, R = Right hand)

    LR
    R
    R

    Have fun o/

    Ramones - Blitzkrieg Bop

If you don't headbang to this, kill yourself.
    Like, now.

Sex Pistols - PlayAnarchy In The UK

    SCREAM, ROTTEN, SCREAM SOME MORE.
    Fuckin' A.

Funny how Punk Rock bands don't tend to add 'The' before their names.

A Flock of Seagulls - PlayI Ran (So Far Away)

What's the deal with their guitar? Damn, it's just so cool.

    Freezepop - Super-Sprøde & PlayPlastic Stars

All Freezepop songs are synthlicious, but these two are my favorite.
Dance with Sprøde, be romantic with Plastic Stars.

KC & The Sunshine Band - That's The Way I Like It

    U-hu, u-hu, that's the way.
    Funk at its best.

Kool & The Gang - PlayHollywood Swingin'

Thanks Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for introducing me to all of this.

    James Brown - PlaySex Machine

No, this song is not supposed to make you horny, it's supposed to make you dance.
    It's definitely working.

Martha Reeves And The Vandellas - Nowhere To Run

First head Arnold McCuller's version on The Warriors PSP game, then watched the movie, then downloaded McCuller's version, then downloaded this. Soul for the win.

    Charles Wright - PlayExpress Yourself

Who gives a fuck about Nwa when you can have original versions?

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Der Hölle Rache

    laLALALALALALAlaaaaa, laLALALALALALALALAlaaaaaa, laLAlaLAlaLAlaLAlaLALALAlaLAlaLAlaLALOOOL.
    All hail opera.

    Irakere - PlayAguanile

"I should seriously consider start dancing."
That's what I always think after listening to this song.

Then I just go headbang to some metal.

    Beastie Boys - PlayIntergalactic

Not really like their other songs (which I love too), but I still get spasms over this beat.

Cypress Hill - How could I just kill a man

Gangsta lyrics, funky beat... Makes me want to go around shooting random people.

Eazy-E - Boyz In The Hood

The first song I learned the lyrics by heart.
The lyrics are lame and really unreal, but boy, do I like to feel gangsta sometimes.

Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five - White Lines

Great beat from one of the best DJs ever.

    Egyptian Lover - Egypt Egypt

Catchy hip-hop/electro beat with catchier lyrics.
    HELL YEAH!

Will Smith - Fresh Prince of Belair

    This song marked my childhood.
    That show freakin' rocked.

Run DMC - My Adidas, It's like that & It's Tricky

I just couldn't choose only one song from the best hip hop group there has ever been.

    GLaDOS - Still Alive
