29 Dec 2007, 22:49 by Confessions87This list was very difficult to compile, there are some albums I have had to leave out that I really wanted to be in it, too. Also, it's a chart strictly based on albums that were released in 2007 in the UK, not 2006 or any other previous year. Because of this, some albums that I discovered in 2007 that were released the year before aren't eligible. Most notably, Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black," Joanna Newsom's "Ys," and Bat for Lashes' "Fur and Gold."
Also, just as a footnote of sorts, this list has been edited a few times since I initially published it, making way for albums Ive heard recently in 2008 that were just too good not to include in this list!
10. Britney Spears, "Blackout."
9. Björk, "Volta."
8. Joni Mitchell, "Shine."
7. Tori Amos, "American Doll Posse."
6. Róisín Murphy, "Overpowered."
5. M.I.A., "Kala."
4. PJ Harvey, "White Chalk."

15 Jul 2007, 18:05 by argusThey Might Be Giants- The Else. One really good song (With The Dark), A few other pretty good ones scattered around ("The Cap'm, Upside Down Frown, Careful What You Pack), a bunch of tracks that at least aren't embarrassing, and two that are (The Mesopotamians and Bee Of The Bird Of The Moth both seem like someone else making fun of TMBG's "over-clever" lyrical style to me, though the latter still gets in my head all the time). Another new TMBG album I'll probably listen to for a few months and get bored of, but at least it's not bad.
Justice - Justice. Despite the indie hype growing, I actually wasn't considering picking it up until I heard it playing at the record store. I really like how they make catchy accessible dance music using the grottiest, most distorted synth sounds possible.
Ween - The Friends EP. I do really like that with the title track they actually were commited enough to the authentic cheesy euro-disco feel that they actually got the producer behind Crazy Frog to mix the song…
