JunoonBiography
Junoon, or جنون (meaning “obsession” in Urdu) was an alternative/psychedelic rock band from Lahore, Pakistan. It was formed in 1990 by guitarist/songwriter/physician Salman Ahmad. At the time, Junoon consisted of two other members: Ali Azmat (vocals) and Nusrat Hussain (keyboards). However, Brian later joined them as a guitarist. The group performed all around the globe and cultivated the sufi rock scene. The group was broken up when Salman Ahmed moved to New York and Brian went back to his native country. Ali Azmat now plays as a solo artist and has released several successful albums to date.
