Junkyard Jane is a Northwest “Swampabilly” blues band performing original music and consisting of: vocalist/percussionist Leanne Trevalyan, vocalist/guitarist Billy Stoops, bassist Barbra Blue and drummer Chris Leighton.

The band coined the term “Swampabilly” as their defining genre when forced to describe their sound; a gumbo of Americana, blues, country, folk, funk, rock, and swampy, New Orleans influenced music written by songwriters Trevalyan and Stoops.[1]

Former members include saxophonist Susan Orfield, trombonist Randy Oxford, harmonicist/saxophonist Jim King, bassist Alex Featherstone and drummers Darin Watkins

Their Official Web Site’s are right here: On this Web Site it says that a new Web Site is still under construction.

Their My Space has the following information on their Biography section:

This four-headed love child named Junkyard Jane rose by night in the tide flats of Tacoma, Washington from a deadly mephitic brew of blues, swamp gas, rockabilly, old engine parts, country, motor oil, folk, funk and used kitty litter. Like all true originals, they display a Creole blend of influences that they affectionately call “Swampabilly Blues”.

With five critically acclaimed CD’s under their belt and over 1000 live performances since their 1997 debut, the band once again calls the Great Northwest their home after a four year stint in the Americana friendly city of Louisville, Kentucky.

Junkyard Jane, a BEAM Grant (Benefiting Emerging Artists in Music) recipient, was one of only eight groups from a pool of thousands to make the final round at the 2001 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee.
