Biography

Junkboy are a band formed of brothers Rich and Mik Hanscomb, the group originated from Southend-on-Sea, Essex in the late nineties. Their music has seen many shifts over the period of time they have been making music from late 90’s space rock to post rock, psych and folk. Junkboy write and prouduce original creations and are often accompanied by a variety of other musicians who contribute to their studio sound.

Junkboy’s current album Koyo (released 2010 on Enraptured Records) represents a more song-based sound influenced by West Coast LA pop, folk, post rock and psych. Recorded between spring 2008 and autumn 2009, Koyo has an organic production with lush instrumentations and heartfelt melodies throughout.
