Soldier Blue (4:48)

“Soldier Blue is about the riots at the Anti-Polltax Demonstration of March 31st 1990. The title is my name for the 25s - the SPG para-military shark eyes who get sent in whenever civil insurrection is imminent. But I’m not so thick as to blame them alone, though. That’s just what this government would want. I also blame those A-holes who used the Anti-Polltax Demo to chuck a brick through a bank window or loot a stereo from Dixon’s in Regent Street. You dumb-ies obscured the issue and put our cause back years. It’s like Lenny Bruce said in 1966; “… and that’s another big problem … the people can’t separate the Authorities and the people who have the authority vested in them. I think you see a lot of that in the demonstrations. Because they have that concept that the Law and the Law Enforcement are one … actually the people are demonstrating … against the police department. Against the policemen”.”
