Separate artist profiles is definitely the way to go, and it's a wonder that last.fm hasn't already integrated a system like that into their site yet. Shouldn't be so hard to do that. When somebody, for instance, scrobbles tracks by "JUDE" the site or plugin could simply ask which "JUDE" the user is listening to. After enough submissions from different people, the system would figure out automatically–based on track/album title–which "JUDE" profile to link the user's scrobbles to. And yes RBF, Benzie's JUDE was fantastic. It would have been really nice to see a new album in the vein of "DIRTY ANIMAL" or "ZHIVAGO" again. Wouldn't mind if he made it a solo album, though.
