Heart and Soul was my introduction to Joy Division. After hearing this whole album, I was sold. One of the darkest albums ever made, moreso than Unknown Pleasures.

this album takes the minimalism from their first album and minimalizes it

Both albums are brilliant but for somewhat different reasons. They're both among the absolute best rock ever made, but I favour this one slightly more.

The best thing with Joy Division's name on it, without a doubt.

What's the point of comparing them? They had both something special, and these comparisons are useless as constructive criticism, knowing the band died like thirty years ago.

It's good, but it's definitely no Unknown Pleasures.

This is so intense, so emotional, too much feelings in one album. Outstanding. 9,7/10
