Jordin Brianna Sparks, born December 22, 1989, is an American singer and actress from Glendale, Arizona. She rose to fame as the winner of American Idol season 6 in 2007.
Jordin recorded an album titled For Now in 2003, a five-song album at the age of thirteen with Matthew Ward, a legendary Christian music artist and Gary Leach, an engineer who has worked on several of LeAnn Rimes’ albums.
Jordin’s first studio album, Jordin Sparks, entered and peaked on the US Billboard 200 in November 2007 at #10, selling 119,000 copies in it’s first week and was certified Platinum there. To date, it has sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide, peaking at #10 on the New Zealand album chart, #12 on the Canadian album chart and #17 on the UK and Austrailian album chart. Jordin’s coronation song for her American Idol win, called
This Is My Now, peaked at #15 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #66 on the Canadian Hot 100. Her second single called Tattoo did better in the charts than her coronation song, peaking at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100, #3 on the Canadian Hot 100, #5 on the Austrailian singles chart and #26 on the UK singles chart. No Air (duet with Chris Brown) was the third single, and her highest charting song to date, hitting the top 10 in 18 countries around the world, peaking at #1 on the Austrailian, Israeli, New Zealand and UK R&B singles charts.
