This grossly underrated album is nothing short of a crushing masterpiece. Its well-thought eclecticism, exquisite compositions and Jaco's impressive bass playing make it stand out as the best work Joni has ever released. No wonder Bjork listed it as one of her all-time favourites.

yes, fascinating, absolutely! it's very strange... but very beautiful. her voice, the bass, the guitar layers, it all comes together wonderfully! it was all very weird and new to me, but by now I love most of it, and the only thing I still can't really stand is "The Tenth World".

After Hejira which is polished to perfection this record has a jagged unfinished feel. Not all of it works but it's fascinating and totally unique.
