John Young (1) plays keys and sings for The Scorpions, Bonnie Tyler, Greenslade and the John Young Band. Past credits include John Wetton, Fish, The Law, Paul Rodgers, Qango, Uli Jon Roth, Roy Wood. John writes for the JYB, John Wetton and Fish as well as CNN, the BBC,ITV, C4, Discovery Channel, History, Nat Geographic etc.

The John Young Band formed in 2002 to produce and perform new original quality classic rock music.

(2) John Young is a composer of electroacoustic music. He studied at the University of Canterbury, in Christchurch, New Zealand, and subsequently in the United Kingdom, with Denis Smalley. From 1990-1999 he was the director of the Electroacoustic Music Studios at Victoria University, in Wellington, New Zealand. Since 2000, he has taught at De Montfort University in Leicester, UK.

His music largely focuses on the interaction between natural sound recordings and computer manipulations of those recordings. Significant works include Inner, Virtual, Time Motion and Memory, Liquid Sky, and Pythagoras’s Curtain.
