Essa obra não contém apenas boas faixas muito bem executadas, tem acima de tudo a devoção de jovens ingleses ao blues norte americano. A feliz parceria com Eric Clapton tempera ainda mais com o rock ingles, que andava por cima na época, e cria ainda uma nova maneira de interpretar seus grandes ídolos com as incríveis versões de Otis Rush, Willie Dixon, Robert Johnson e Ray Charles. Além disso as faixas compostas por Mayall são dignas de entrarem no repertório standard de qualquer bluesman como as maravilhosas “Double Crossing Time”, “Key To Love” e “Have You Heard”. Sem dúvida, esse álbum conhecido também por “The Beano Album”, é um clássico dos anos 60 e ainda vai inspirar milhares de futuros guitarristas como já influenciou milhares de veteranos.

ah... it looks like the original tracks - plus a bunch of BBC tapes and stuff - are on the "Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton - Deluxe Edition". Also, if you search for this album on Amazon, the MP3 "album" contains the original (vinyl) tracks, plus a few extras. I'd recommend going that way.

These versions of these tracks absolutely don't appear on my copy of this album - I've got the original on vinyl. Not saying there's anything wrong with them - but they sure ain't what the Beano album had on it.
