As it's almost the 28th anniversary of John Lennon's death and I've been listening to his music a lot this week (even more than usual, that is) I thought it would be a good time to post my top 10 favourite John Lennon
solo songs. So here they are, counting down from #10 to #1.
10. (Just Like) Starting Over
This was the perfect song to open the Double Fantasy
album and mark the beginning of his comeback in 1980. I love the vocals and the 50s feel, though it always make me feel sad to hear him sounding so positive about the future considering what would happen just a few months later.
9. Oh Yoko!
Until a few months ago this song would never have made it into my top 10 but I recently 'rediscovered' it and now it's one of my favourites. A simple love song about John's feelings for Yoko, it has a very catchy and uplifting melody. The harmonica is great too.
8. Instant Karma
Instant Karma was recorded the same day it was written, and then released as a single only 10 days later. …
